The Arizona State Centennial Artist Trading Cards Project commences on August 15th 2011 and submissions will be accepted through December 15, 2011. Your work must be in the form of a trading card, 2 ½” by 3 ½ “ in any medium. These artist trading cards are original works of art, self produced by anyone of any age in the state of Arizona with the theme of the Arizona State Centennial. That means virtually any subject that pertains to the history and present life in Arizona, its breathtaking scenery and rich multicultural traditions. This is a chance for creativity on a small unique scale. Let your imagination run wild, using , but not limited to, painting, photography, collage, metal, fiber, ceramic, and glass. The only restriction is size. Participants can submit up to 10 cards and will be returned, after the exhibit, 10 different, unique; one of kind cards from 10 randomly selected other participants. One of the results of this project is to put Arizona artists in touch with each other and open lines of communication and facilitate dialogue between artists that is difficult in such a large territory as Arizona. To that end your contact information should appear on the back of each trading card. The sponsoring organization, the Artists’ Coalition of Flagstaff reserves the right to reject any cards not pertaining to the subject matter. There will be a touring exhibit during 2012 and submitted cards will be exhibited in art galleries in Flagstaff, Sedona, Jerome, Prescott, the Phoenix and Tucson areas and Bisbee. Upon completion of the touring exhibit you will be returned the same number of cards that you submitted from all different artists.
